Mooloolaba Beach Festival | Event Program

WEATHER UPDATE

There is some large swell predicted for the weekend and Sunshine Coast beaches are starting to experience increased swell size and intensity.

We have been in consultation with local lifeguards this morning and some changes to courses will be necessary.  However, all distances will still be offered.

Sunday courses will be reviewed at 6:30am on Sunday February 18.

The Event Site      

  • This will remain on Mooloolaba Beach, in front of the Mooloolaba SLSC
  • Times for Check-in, Massage Services and Yoga have not changed

Ocean Swim & Paddle Courses

  • Lifesaving officials have declared Alexandra Headland unsafe for the start of the 2.5km ocean swim and is expected to be closed tomorrow
  • An alternative course will be offered for the 2.5km and 5.0km events starting and finishing at The Spit (Southern end of Mooloolaba Beach)
  • Both distances will still be provided and a course format will be confirmed by 8:00am, after Conditions Assessments with lifesaving officials
  • A paddle course will be offered but a format will be confirmed after Conditions Assessments
