The Sunshine Coast Spring Swim, Presented by Milk & Co, offers distances for every ability, a simple course layout for kids and beginners and longer events for competitive swimmers and triathletes in training.

THE EVENTS

Marathon Distance (5.0km)

Test your mettle in a 5.0km marathon distance swim at one of nature’s great open water arenas – Mooloolaba Beach.

A 5.0km open water swim is not for the faint-hearted, but this course allows you to break up the longer distance into smaller, more achievable legs with a beach exit and simple configuration.

Long Course (2.5km)

This event is a great training goal for any ability.  For the seasoned swimmers and triathletes, use this as a stepping stone for the summer ahead or a hit-out before your next event.

If you think 2.5km might be a stretch, use our transition halfway to check your progress before tackling the return leg.

Short Course (1.25km)

The 1.25km short course is the perfect introduction for less experienced ocean swimmers.  The course starts at the Southern end of Mooloolaba Beach (The Spit) and is a straight line down to the finish.

A simple beach start, flat water, straight course…easy.

Junior Giants (1.25km)

This Junior Giants event is a great opportunity for kids aged 10 – 16 years to compete with other swimmers their own age.

The 1.25km event will use the same course format as the Short Course event

 

Beach Yoga

The free Stretch Yoga session is designed for swimmers and will include yoga for beginners and a few advanced poses for seasoned yoga enthusiasts.

All you need is a beach towel (instead of a yoga mat..)

Location: Mooloolaba Beach, in front of Loo-with-a-view

 

Prizes

World Series Swims will have some great prizes up for grabs thanks to 2XU Australia & Milk & Co.

Presentations on event day will include the following overall prizes in each event (male & female):

– Major Prize Draw 2XU Wetsuits (x3) – Random Draw (announced online)
– 1.25km Junior Giants 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Product Prizes)
– 1.25km Short Course 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Product Prizes)
– 2.5km Long Course 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Product Prizes)
– 5.0km Marathon 1st ($300 Cash), 2nd, 3rd (Product Prizes)

11:25am Safety Briefing (1.25km events) @ The Spit

11:35am 1.25km Short Course Start @ The Spit
12:15pm Presentations @ Mooloolaba Beach – Event Site
