Gold Coast Summer Swims | Presented by Engine Swim

Sat Dec 07 | Sun Jan 19 | Sun Feb 16

This Summer we’re launching a series of regular, short course ocean swims held every month over Summer, in December, January & February.

The Gold Coast Summer Swims are super social and the distances are great training goals – think of them as stepping stones to longer distances and other events throughout your Summer.

The courses offer a mix of surf and flat water, from the sheltered Greenmount Beach around to Kirra Beach, home of the Cooly Classic.

For swim training, for surf practice, for race prep – these events are built for Summer fun in the surf, no matter what your motivation is.

Course Options

The Summer Swim | 1.25km

The Summer Swim is for beginners, elites and everyone in between.  It has a simple point-to-point course layout which is easy to navigate – no complicated turns!

The course also travels ‘with the sweep’ of the ocean, so you’ll get a bit of help as you swim.

On the day, you’ll check-in at Kirra Beach, take a short stroll to the Start at Greenmount (10 mins), then swim back to Kirra – 1.25km done!

View our Course Maps to see where you start and finish.

The Step Up | 1.75km

As the name suggests, the 1.75km course is a ‘step up’ in distance from the social swim. We want to provide a slightly longer option that you can set your sights on throughout the series.

There is no Elite wave or prize money, but if you want to win the Fastest Male & Female prize, you can start from any wave group, even the Mates Wave.
