Event Update

Hi Everyone

We hope you enjoyed your long weekend, despite the disappointment that we all experienced on Sunday morning. 

Our 13th Annual Cooly Classic has certainly thrown up some challenges.  Since it began in 2010, we have never even had to make a course change, let alone cancel. So to postpone on April 10, then have to abandon events on Sunday when they were already underway, was devastating for everyone. We know how much effort goes into your preparation and also the time and money you spend traveling to the event, we really do feel your frustration.

Once the event day arrives, we are fully committed to delivering the event, so all of our support services and event resources have been paid for in full, from our water safety teams to the merchandise you receive with your entry. It is also not viable to reschedule to a new date once event day arrives, so a postponement is just not possible in these circumstances.

Although we have strict conditions in our Participant Agreement surrounding refunds when late changes are necessary, we always try to offer you something, if you don’t get to swim.

We know that many of you expect nothing in these circumstances and understand that late changes and sometimes cancellations are just part of events in the ocean.  However, we also realise that some of you feel robbed of a swim when this happens, so we do want to try and offer you something to take away from Sunday.

If you are interested in receiving a credit, we can offer you 50% of your entry fee as a credit to a 2023 event.  The credit will apply for the 2023 Noosa Summer Swim, Mooloolaba Mile or Cooly Classic. 

Dates for 2023 have not yet been confirmed, but please contact us if you would like to take up this offer - we will make a record and contact you when entries do open for 2023. 

We realise that this offer won’t please everyone and we’re very sorry that the day had to turn out the way it did.
