Cooly Classic Event Update
Hi Everyone
Thank you once again for your understanding on Sunday. It was so disappointing to be faced with that decision on event day, as we know how much effort goes into your preparation and also the time and money you spend traveling to the event, so we really do feel your frustration.
Our priority is always keeping you safe out in the water and to do that, our Surf Life Saving teams need to be able to perform their role safely – that just would not have been possible in those conditions. We were also unable to make this decision on Saturday as conditions were still favourable and all courses could have been offered at that point.
Once the event day arrives, we are fully committed to delivering the event, so all of our support services and event resources are onsite and have been paid for in full. We have looked into alternative dates, however we have been unable to secure a date that all of our support services are available, so a postponement is not possible on this occasion.
Although we have strict conditions in our Participant Agreement surrounding refunds when late changes are necessary, we always try to offer you something, if you don’t get to swim.
We know that many of you expect nothing in these circumstances and understand that late changes and sometimes cancellations are just part of events in the ocean. However, we also realise that some of you feel robbed of a swim when this happens, so we do want to try and offer you something to take away from Sunday.
