First held in 1987, the Portsea Swim Classic is now one of Victoria’s largest and most iconic swims.
Portsea is a popular resort town located approximately 90km from the Melbourne CBD and is home to the pristine Point Nepean National Park.
In addition to the classic 1.5 km Portsea Swim Classic, there is also a 2.5km Portsea Swim Classic Gold long course.
The Events
Portsea Swim Classic (1.5km)
The 1500m “point-to-point” course starts close to the iconic Portsea Pier and takes you through the pristine waters of Weeroona Bay before heading west around Police Point, along the stunning foreshore of Point Nepean and finishing at Jarman Oval (better known as the “Polo Ground”) at the historic Quarantine Station in Point Nepean National Park
Portsea Swim Classic Gold (2.5km)
The 2.5 km long course option starts to the east of the Portsea Hotel with a shot gun start and competitor numbers are strictly limited to 300 entrants only.

Dash 4 Cash
Only open to pre registered swimmers and limited to 50 female and 50 male swimmers, registration will be on the day, opening at 9am. You must take your Timing Chip to the DASH 4 CASH registration tent for proof of registration.
$1,000 cash each to be won by the first male and female.
Major Prizes
Enter any Portsea Swim Classic event online and you will go into the draw to win a return trip for two people to the Noosa Summer Swim Festival on Feb 18-19, 2023
The Major Prize includes return flights, accommodation and swim entries into any distances across the two day festival.
